GUI Colorizer

Recolour Minecraft's inventory, chest, furnace, hotbar and XP bar and download the resource pack. Brightness drives the gradient, so every bevel and shadow survives.

Presets

Textures in the pack
Unticked textures are shown as vanilla and are left out of the pack, so Minecraft keeps its own.

Minecraft's GUI is near-greyscale with all of its depth carried in brightness — the raised bevel, the sunken slot, the one-pixel dark edge. So this does not tint: each pixel's brightness picks a position along your gradient, which replaces the palette completely while keeping every bit of that shading. A tint would just make the original darker.

The pack targets Minecraft Java 1.21 and later. 1.21 split the HUD out of two large sheets into individual sprite files, and a pack built from the new layout uses file names an older version does not look for. That is a different set of images, not a different pack_format number, so there is no version dropdown here that would quietly produce a pack your target cannot use.

Drop the ZIP into .minecraft/resourcepacks and enable it in Options → Resource Packs. Nothing is uploaded — the recolouring happens on a canvas in this tab and the ZIP is written in the browser.

Quick guides

How to use this tool, and the questions players ask most.

How to change Minecraft GUI color?

You change GUI color by loading a custom resource pack with recolored interface textures, which GUI Colorizer generates automatically. In Minecraft Java 1.20.2 and later, these interface container assets are stored in assets/minecraft/textures/gui/container/.

How to make a Minecraft GUI texture pack?

Create a folder containing a pack.mcmeta file with pack format 34 for version 1.21, then place your custom PNG assets inside assets/minecraft/textures/gui/sprites/. Minecraft automatically maps these PNGs over the vanilla interface textures.

How to change GUI scale in Minecraft?

Open the Pause menu, navigate to Options..., select Video Settings..., and click GUI Scale to cycle values from 1 to 4. Setting the option to Auto maximizes the interface scale based on your screen resolution.

How to change GUI in Minecraft Bedrock?

Bedrock Edition GUI textures are modified through resource packs containing customized JSON files and PNG textures in the textures/ui/ directory. Move the pack folder into com.mojang/resource_packs and activate it under the Global Resources menu.

How to change GUI text color in Minecraft?

Modify interface text colors by defining custom hex codes in assets/minecraft/font/default.json or by applying formatted JSON text components. For example, running /give @p chest{custom_name:'{"text":"Vault","color":"#FFAA00"}'} generates an orange container title.
