Design firework rockets with real crafting math, and plan Elytra flight range with rocket boosts.
How to use this tool, and the questions players ask most.
Craft Elytra rockets using exactly 1 paper and between 1 and 3 gunpowder in any crafting grid layout. Never add firework stars, as plain rockets assign flight duration values of 1, 2, or 3 without exploding.
Fireworks deal damage during Elytra flight when crafted with firework stars, which inflict 5 to 7 damage per star upon detonation. A rocket loaded with 7 firework stars can deal up to 36 damage, instantly killing an unarmored player.
Jump while falling from a height of at least 1 block to deploy your wings, then right-click while holding a rocket in your main hand or off-hand. The rocket accelerates your player model to a boost speed of roughly 33.5 blocks per second.
In Bedrock Edition, jump mid-air to activate gliding, then tap and hold the screen or hold the use item button while holding a rocket. Unlike Java Edition's single right-click, Bedrock requires holding the interaction button for approximately 1 second to boost.
Rockets fail to boost you if your Elytra has dropped to 1 durability, or if you have not entered the gliding animation. Ensure your Elytra is equipped in chestplate slot 38 and press jump once mid-fall before using a rocket.
