Wandering Trader & Bastion Reference

Wandering Trader trades, Bastion Remnant variants and treasure room loot, and piglin bartering results.

Trade lists and loot tables reflect commonly-documented vanilla data — drop rates/weights are approximate, not exact percentages. The Wandering Trader tab covers the full "Ordinary trade" and "Special trade" sell-side pools (the trader sells these to you); it does not include the separate 6-item "purchase trades" pool (the trader buys these FROM you: Hay Bale, Water Bottle, Baked Potato, Milk Bucket, Water Bucket, Fermented Spider Eye). Each individual trader only offers 9 trades at once (2 purchase + 2 special + 5 ordinary), drawn randomly from these pools.

Quick guides

How to use this tool, and the questions players ask most.

Does the wandering trader restock trades in Minecraft?

No, wandering traders never restock their trades once exhausted. Unlike normal villagers with profession workstations, their trade inventory is fixed upon spawning, and the trader despawns permanently after 40 to 72 minutes (48,000 to 86,400 game ticks).

Can you keep a wandering trader from despawning with a nametag?

Applying a name tag does not prevent a wandering trader from despawning. The mob relies on a hardcoded DespawnDelay tag, which ticks down to 0 regardless of name tags, boats, minecarts, or leads attached to them.

Can you breed wandering traders in Minecraft?

Wandering traders cannot breed with each other or with regular villagers. They do not possess a baby variant and cannot consume items like 3 bread or 12 carrots to enter breeding mode.

How do you disable wandering traders in Minecraft?

You can disable wandering trader spawns by setting the trader gamerule to false. Run /gamerule doTraderSpawning false in the chat or server console, which halts the spawning check that runs every 24,000 game ticks.

How often do wandering traders spawn in Minecraft?

The game attempts to spawn a wandering trader every 24,000 ticks within a 48-block radius of a player. The initial spawn chance is 2.5%, increasing by 2.5% on failed attempts up to a maximum of 7.5%.
