Build recipe, predicate, kit, and NBT-to-component migration JSON for your datapack.
How to use this tool, and the questions players ask most.
Custom recipe JSON files belong in the data//recipe/ directory within your datapack folder. In Minecraft 1.21, subfolders inside this path automatically define the recipe namespace and ID after running /reload.
Set the type field to minecraft:smelting, define the ingredient item ID, set result, and specify cookingtime in ticks. For example, standard furnace smelting takes 200 ticks and grants experience defined in the experience float value.
Bedrock Edition requires recipe files in the recipes/ folder of a behavior pack using format_version "1.12". The root object must contain the minecraft:recipe_shaped or minecraft:recipe_shapeless property with description identifiers.
Replace the top-level tag compound with individual item components such as minecraft:custom_data or minecraft:enchantments introduced in Minecraft 1.20.5. The Datapack JSON Builders tool translates legacy NBT syntax directly into the modern component format.
Predicate JSON files evaluate game conditions such as weather, player equipment, or random chance for loot tables and command execution. They are stored in data//predicate/ and can be tested in-game using the /execute if predicate command.
